Crossing the Atlantic by Sailboat: An Unforgettable Adventure
If you think that you can no longer do anything different or that you have no destination left to visit, we propose an unforgettable adventure, crossing the Atlantic aboard a sailboat. At Alegría Marineros you will find the best expeditions so that you can turn a trip aboard a sailboat into an adventure that you will never be able to forget.
Traveling by sailboat is a unique experience, not only because of the places you can get to on board the boat, but also because of the way in which you travel on this boat. When you travel aboard a sailboat, you don’t feel like a passenger, but like one of the crew. You will be able to share some unique days with like-minded people while discovering some of the most beautiful places in nature.
Crossing the Atlantic under Sail: Sailing in Freedom
One of the most beautiful things about traveling aboard a sailboat is the feeling of freedom. Spending time on deck, feeling the sea water, its smell, the salt… These are sensations that can only be felt on board a sailboat.
Our boats are equipped with the best technology to make travel safe, as we anticipate weather predictions. One of the great things about going out on the Atlantic is that you can get to a lot of different places to get around. Because of how much you’ll be sailing, the feeling of freedom is incomparable. You will have no limit on any route and you will be able to enjoy both the high seas and the different places to reach. We are talking about places where the footprint of man has hardly any impact, such as the Island of the States.
Sailing you can live a different experience, visit places such as Mar de Plata or Piriápolis where you can enjoy their culture or local gastronomy. Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina… When a voyage is carried out aboard a sailboat, only the navigator is responsible for the destination, so nothing will limit you if you want to get closer to one island or spend more time on another.
Throughout the Atlantic there are many places of interest to visit, but also some of the most important are located in the sea itself. The Atlantic is an ocean that boasts a wide variety of different landscapes and marine life. All this allows you to enjoy many things, from the marine fauna, to simply a sunrise or sunset on board the sailboat.
Due to all these characteristics, taking a route across the Atlantic Ocean means being able to enjoy many different moments, both on board and on land on the different islands or places that are visited. If you’re looking for an epic route, a trip across the Atlantic Ocean is something you’ll never forget. The freedom in navigation, the series of challenges you face and the landscapes covered will be spectacular.
In addition, thanks to modern navigation techniques and the technology that accompanies cruises, you will be guaranteed a safest route that adapts to all the needs of travelers.
Safety in navigation is one of the most important aspects so that you can enjoy the journey much more. At Alegría Marineros you will have highly trained professionals so that manning the sailboat is not a problem, however, it is also important that the crew is prepared to make navigation safer.
Within this preparation it is important to know the boat well. Getting to know the sailboat and studying the parts of it in depth will help you to perform better during the trip. Being clear about some concepts in relation to the parts of the boat, such as the deck, stern or bow, will also help you move around the boat much better.
On the other hand, we are talking about routes that are the safest, but it is also important to be in good physical shape to be able to enjoy them in a much safer way. On-board knowledge is highly valued, especially if a window needs to be repaired or any other kind of help is required. You must remember that on a sailboat you are not just another passenger, but you are also an active part of the crew to the extent that you can help.
It is also quite important to be aware of the environment in which one moves. Some areas are protected, so you can’t get anything in or out of them and, of course, you’ll also have to be prepared with medication if you have any medication or have everything you depend on for your health. When you’re on the high seas it’s not like being in a city and the towns you reach by boat are not possible to find the same as in a big city.
Be patient and learn to adapt to situations. When it comes to sailing, sometimes a setback in the weather can lead to taking another route or not being able to navigate at all. Remember all this for your safety and you will enjoy the trip much more.
