New journeys

I'll tell you the new journeys

But first, the diary!!

Where is the limit? This is a problem, how is it possible that I like living like this so much? Experimenting, appreciating, exciting, inspiring others… Today, for example, I heard among the crew of this wonderful group several sincere thanks, they were not for my treatment and my company, they were for the impressive place we were visiting. The photos, the videos, my stories, are not comparable to what you see and live here. I must also say that only people willing to do it perceive it that way, those who lost that gift and the illusion long ago it is very difficult for them to live it like this …

But I do not lose hope, I know that some when a little time passes, they will realize that life is to enjoy it…

Anchoring

Dear friends, we are anchored in the pot of the Pia glacier, in its west arm. We have the anchor and a cape to land, to a rock, we are close but at a safe distance, the collapses of the ice are heard, the wave of the wave arrives when falling into the water, some ice hits us gently, it is as if we were in the navel of the world. We felt like the explorers of times past…

This is just wonderful…

And of course there was a mess.

Heh, heh, heh, I’m going to tell you …

Life takes many turns (every day one), a while ago I told you how well we were anchored in the pot of the Pia snowdrift, listening to the thunder of the glaciers when they break, we had dinner, we enjoyed good music … we went to sleep and at 2 hours a strong wind of up to 40 knots rose, the anchorage began to claw, I woke up the Alegría Marineros team, we had to get out of there urgently.

I have to say that this team works better and better!!

We decided to leave the mooring to land 240 meters of cape, the boat was appropriated, we began to lower chain and we had to navigate 8 miles between channels, ice and total darkness, the starry sky as rarely seen here … Imagine how little light pollution there is around here… It has been wonderful, the whole team understood the maneuver immediately, the rest of the crew behaved in a very mature way, cooperating in everything and fulfilling their safety role.

We have reached the east arm of the Pious Sound, we have anchored with 175 meters of chain and the gusts begin to slacken …

It is impressive to navigate the channels with stern wind of up to 40 knots, stopping the boat to try to avoid hitting the ice with a bow giving instructions from the bowsprit …

For me this is living, I love adventures … I’m in bed with a wonderful smile and before bed I needed to tell you…

I’m telling you but being here is something else…

A new day

After last night’s adventure, we continue anchored near the Pia snowdrift on its east side, it has been blowing all day with desire, gusts of up to 50 knots, or something more, tomorrow afternoon the weather will begin to improve and we can get closer to recover the cape we left on land and continue towards the Garibaldi glacier.

Being in this area of the world is wonderful we are passing the ice around, sailing here, is completely different than in other areas of the world, today we commented that for example in the Mediterranean, being anchored in summer and having gusts of 40 or 50 knots, (imagine, the other day we had 78) would be to go on TV, Many ships would claw, however here is the daily bread…

Here you live within nature and perceive all its beauty and power, this is simply wonderful, you can not miss it really …

New journeys

I would like to remind you that on April 1st we sailed from Ushuaia / Puerto Williams to Punta Arenas, this is a wonderful expedition, it has snowdrifts and the channels between the Beagle and the Strait of Magellan.

Then we will continue sailing towards Valdivia, if you want to know well the Fuegian channels, this is your trip, it will be like 1000 miles that will have everything, incredible landscapes, sailing, glaciers, waterfalls and you will soak up one of the purest areas in the world …

You can find more information about the new crossings on our website.

Then I have prepared another expedition, this will be pure sailing, for me it is an important challenge.

We will set sail at the end of May from Valdivia to Ecuador, we will call at Robinson Crusoe Island and we will continue entering the Pacific to find favorable winds to Ecuador. I think it is a great challenge and if I were one of you I would sign up for these new journeys, we will sail on the Copernicus that I really want to make miles!

Now I am resting, while I write to you, the rigging whistles, we will have more than 25 knots and from time to time the noise of the wind fills all the spaces of the boat

It’s wonderful to live like this…

Thanks for being there, see you soon
